Howdy cookbook fans!
And boy do I have a treat for you today. In last Friday’s issue of Stained Page News, designer Frances Baca looked at the remarkable design inside 2008’s LEON: Ingredients & Recipes by Allegra McEvedy. The article ran with 10 photos of the interior of the book, which was about what we felt comfortable running under the concept of Fair Use (which allows for unlicensed publication of copyrighted material in reviews and other publications).
Today, though, I am thrilled to announce the book’s publisher, Octopus, was kind enough to grant us permission to run a significant number of additional photos. The post now contains a whopping 39 photos from the book, plus additional analysis of the design from Frances. This is a true rarity, to be able to run this many images from a published book, and I hope you enjoy the updated, expanded piece as much as I do. Thanks to Octopus and Liz Hermann for making it happen, in addition to Frances for her singular dedication to writing about this book’s design.
And now, without any further delay, here is the newly expanded and truly epic Behind the Design: LEON: Ingredients & Recipes by Frances Baca:
