When it comes to tomato sauce for pasta, there are a lot of different approaches. Like many, I’m a big fan of the famous Marcella Hazan recipe from Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking: tomato, a stick of butter, half an onion, simmer for a bit (but not for too long). Salt to taste.
