I think Ella Risbridger's two books, Midnight Chicken & The Year of Miracles fit well into this category of Memoir and Narrative Nonfiction. I love how beautiful and tragic these books are with wonderful recipes.

Indigenous memoir with recipes! This is one of my favorite books of all time! It’s Goodseeds: A Menominee Indian Food Memoir by Thomas Pecore Weso. I have pushed this book into countless people’s hands. It’s a hit every time.

What a beautiful essay! It inspired me to continue working on something I began writing two years ago. Memoir and food writing are definitely a delicious combination! Thank you also for giving your reviews of all those food writing memoirs. Have you read Blood, Bones, and Butter? Another lovely family memoir about food. Bless you!
