I thought this was so funny because I *thought* restaurant cookbooks were my least favorite genre, but then you reminded me that that’s definitely not true. My favorites are home cooking from a specific place. My least favorite are the “Low-Sodium Mediterranean Diet in Five Minutes a Day” cookbooks without named authors that infuriate me when I can’t find a single good cookbook on the food of Turkmenistan. But it’s nice to have a reminder that different people like different things. (Even if 90% of all publishing budgets should be devoted to the things I personally like.)
To be clear, there are some very, very good cookbooks from Instagram-friendly DTC food brands.
