The Times has indeed changed recipes from how they're written in the original cookbook - when they published Meera Sodha's chicken curry recipe from Made in India, they changed an ingredient. A small thing, but it's there. (Full disclosure - I work with Meera and translated East for US publication.)

Thanks for this! By "none involving the Times" I just meant the anecdotes I was specifically referring to didn't involve the Times, that's all.
