Howdy cookbook fans!
And welcome to your fall cookbook preview! Between now and the end of the year, publishers will unleash dozens if not hundreds of cookbooks upon the world, and here is my attempt to make sense of them all.
This year, we’ve got books from old faves (Yotam Ottolenghi! Rachael Ray! Sandor Katz!) and a bunch of exciting first titles (Vallery Lomas! Joshua Weissman! Tanorria Askew!). There are baking books that look at traditions from around the world, like Advent and Mooncakes & Milk Bread, and follow-up books to some of my favorite releases of recent years, including Cheryl Day’s new book on Southern baking and Joshua McFadden’s grain-based sequel to Six Seasons. There are fandom books for all you Star Wars and Friends fans, and even a cookbook based on reading tarot cards. And there’s Black Food, cookbook author/EIC of 4 Color Books Bryant Terry’s epic first release on his new imprint.
There are also my top 10 most anticipated titles of fall 2021, available to paid subscribers only. Join in on the fun (and other exclusive content throughout the year!) by clicking the big orange button below.
